Make the right choice With Kathy Bowes

Recently I had the privilege of interviewing Katy Bowes. Kathy is the founder of a program to help people stop overeating and living a better life.

Kathy you thank you for agreeing to talk to me.

KM: There are so many diet programs out there, what makes yours different?

KB: It's a good question.

There are a gazillion "Diet" programs out there, Are not there? That's incredible.

And I am saddened by those who do not really help their customers. Many even put them up for failure.

Hopefully this is not intentional, but sometimes I wonder if they are aware that what they propose can be receiving their finances more than their clients' health and happiness.

Last week, I spoke with One participant in my new class, which was really struggling to stay on a diet program that provides a very popular food refined clients. This woman is beautiful Bulimia, periodically, and terrible sense of his inability to stay on the subject.

As I talked with her on the way some of us, with a long history of overeating, are sensitive to processed foods, she gave me a packet of salad dressing and this program I was shocked. Sugar was the second ingredient and two other locations, under different names.

I love my favorite dressing, Caesar Paul Newman. It is delicious and the sugar does not appear on the ingredients to the place 9. For me, it's better than sugar is the fifth ingredient and beyond, because that works best for my body.

My point being, it is difficult for me to believe that such a program does not know that many of their customers are sensitive to sugar. And they know, why would they put so it in their room? It is not necessary. There are already tasty dressings available non-dependence.

And I just found the other very popular program, I tried several times myself, apparently offers two options to their customers. They may choose to focus on portions or eating the right foods.

Who seemed so strange when I heard that. For me, this is not one or the other situation. I need to eat healthy, whole, non-addictive food for my body and especially in the portion sizes that allow me to stay at a weight I like to.

In the meantime, I am not able to eat my food triggers moderately. So if someone suggested that I just focus on portions meal any kind of food I'd be bulimia in no time.

Okay, back to "live happy, joyous and free on the road less traveled with food. "

First of all it is actually not a diet. We treat what we eat, but in a way that is different that of other approaches.

During the five weeks of Phase I, we learn more about the biochemistry of food addiction and how certain Food can affect our body, mind and emotions and we smashed into a cycle of dependency that makes us unable to control our food and thus weight.

I encourage participants to keep an open mind and become more aware of how what they are eating is interesting, but I do ask them to change anything, yet. They are usually pleasantly surprised that there is no scale to mount or plan to start following introductory class.

From the beginning of Phase II, the action phase, participants are convinced that the way they ate them was to affect negatively and keep them stuck in their cycle of overeating. They are happy to try something different, for at least 28 days and based on what we have learned, they will choose what they eat and portion sizes that short period of time to trust that what I said happened to me there for them too.

Essentially, they take a leap of faith and quit drinking things they think they have loved and could never live without-like sugar, flour, wheat and sweeteners and in a week or more, are generally rebound in the classroom bright eyes and bushy tail that is me who wish they had done long ago.

For me personally, the withdrawal of my particular trigger foods usually takes me 21 days and my habit is again on day 28, but the courageous women who dared to move with me have systems less sensitive and really feel better in a week or two, with a craving or trigger some thoughts here and there.

By the time you start Phase III, if they are free and also explore other areas of their lives, they release the weight. This is a very exciting time and we celebrate our successes in our weekly classes herself dancing and singing, as inspired, to fun songs like Queen's "We Are The Champions".

Second of all, it was created by someone who really understands this problem and has a deep passion to help others break free their cycle of overeating.

From age 11 to 30 I tried so many different systems and methods and none of them worked long term for me. It is extremely disheartening when people read my biography, life happy, joyous and free on the road less traveled with food How I broke free from the bondage of overeating and created a love of life! "They often say," Man, if you can do. I can do it! "And it was one of my main intentions when I wrote the book.

It is true. If I can do it, anyone can.

So I used all my painful experiences for good, brought together the parties who have worked and finally created a way that I permit the release of my excess weight and keep it for the last ten years. The way that works best for me is what I present in this program.

And the good news is that it is surprisingly easy-to Phase III and is a way of eating and living that we can continue with the rest of our lives, if it works well for us.

I would not do if it was hard or if it does make me feel good.

I I feel good. So I thought I ate often. But experience has shown me too much and over again that my food choices and excess weight does make me feel good.

Thirdly, we are discussing in our classes and individual sessions, not only what we eat and our weight. Our power is multifaceted. We are multifaceted. And sometimes it is useful to examine our belief systems, thought patterns and behaviors the inner child and adolescent, and what goes up-which is somehow related to our diet. We create a safe and supportive environment for do with each other in our classes and individual sessions.

In addition, at its core, is a spiritual program and I created this from one place to consider each of us that the beautiful souls here on earth for a variety of reasons, that we alone can decide. People of all faiths are welcome and even those who are not in spirituality can come if they do not mind that I see them as an incredible soul to have a human experience.

With this as its foundation, but my concern is not really what people weigh or what they eat, unless they are blocking what they know they can be, but here on planet Earth.

Every morning I stated the following:
My intention, Thanks to this program is:
_Bring Love and joy in the world! And the rising collective consciousness the process
_Remind People they are beautiful souls luminous beings of light
_Help The exit a mode of self-destructive with food, so they can live more happy, joyous and free, enjoy the happy life, be who they are and do what they like and what they came here to do everything on the planet Earth.

I am a feeling person, while I focus is always on our happiness, not weight. If I could be really happy when I was overweight, this program would not exist. I sincerely wanted to be the kind of person who did not care about my weight and my appearance. But I was not and when I was out of control with my diet and excessive execution weight, I felt depressed, hopeless, embarrassed and many other negative feelings.

So, now participating in my program and I have a way to break free of overeating if we ever find in this cycle. And nine hours a week, we already feel much better and releasing weight.

How we feel good, clarity, we reach, weight and release hooks us in continuing to do what we did in phase II to Phase III and beyond.

I'm just here to support each of us on the road

KM: What do you think makes you qualified offer this program?

KB: I think more than anything, my personal experience and passion to help in this area.

I really felt that I needed to do my part to help, before I left the planet, because this issue will not disappear. In fact, I started to my program throughout the year and almost four years at which time 60 percent of us were overweight or obese, and now the number is 66-67%.

I feel sadness over this, because I know there are people out there like me on their knees, asking for a way out of their cycle of overeating. I do not want to continue to try methods that can not work for them because of their biochemistry. I do not want them to feel like this is a moral issue or a sign that they have no self control or self-discipline. I do not want them to feel ashamed about this subject or blocked by this more. I want to experience the freedom I have today so they can make some something more satisfying lives while they are here.

Maybe some of us are here on planet earth to eat as much food as possible and it is fantastic. I'm not judgmental about that. But for those of us who do not really want to do that and I know we're here for some something different, now there is a simple, easy, feasible and limitless opportunities to us.

I also received my Master Social Work from the University of Chicago with the intention of helping those who want to stop eating too much to do, and I finished my internship second year at the Institute Rader.

KM: What is your success rate?

KB: It depends what you mean by "success." Each person decides for themselves, I suppose.

On my site you can read some www.kathybowesonline.com testimonials from participants.

For me, this means that participants are happier, feel more in tune with who they are out-of-cycle of overeating, and more on track with the goal of their life. And in that spirit, I say that probably all of my clients, until now, were of that opinion when they were meeting with me through classes and individual sessions.

Participants who have moved to Phase II and beyond, have experienced freedom from the bondage of their cycle overeating and freed from the burden that has inspired many of them to continue meeting with me in the Phase III, IV and, for some, beyond.

Until a month ago, I was actually still meeting almost every week, with two women in my class of origin, which took place in November 2003.

We're still staying connected through emails and phone calls, however, and they were clear I always that this program has changed their lives and standing in all areas. These are my strongest supporters because they know the power of this approach is.

Almost everyone with whom I worked, so far, to stay in contact with me periodically and individual face-to-face or session telephone conversation with me.

Some have supported a plan by eating non-food addiction, especially for their body, and focus Now on other areas of their lives and some require a bit of support around a return on their food when they have plans obtained outside of them.

I was someone who relapse a lot if I see it as all good and trust the process for them and I am here whenever they need me.

Participants who remained faithful to our weekly or weekly contact group have certainly done better.

Most of the world looks at food in a very different, so it can keep in touch with those who do the same thing.

KM: Your program is difficult to follow?

KB: For those who feel inspired to read it is so easy and so it is behind you each step of the road.

It is much easier than eating to excess, overweight and struggling with this cycle.

I call it easier way more flexible than I was always looking.

At first glance, I think it looks difficult, but it the kind of thing that builds on itself.

When we eat in a way that allows us to feel more happy, joyous, free and in equilibrium and our weight is a place we love and we feel better about ourselves, and we're creating life we love and our relationships are going to love, and we doing work that inspires us to look back and say: "I thought it would be hard not to eat sugar, but I would not trade my life Today, for ice cream and mom. Not at all. No comment! "

Until you experience it may be difficult to understand. But once you do, you will enjoy the good life instead of the false sweetness of refined foods that fire back on you.

KM: What is a consultation session with you?

KB: It is very spontaneous and open.

Interested parties General organize with me, a time to talk by phone or meet with me face-to-face.

During this first session, we used to talk a little about where they are with their food and their weight. They share some of their experiences and what they want and I answer their questions on how the program works.

Then they decide if it sounds like something that would be useful for them and, if so, we begin to meet individually or joining the next class.

KM: What is a group session like?

KB: The groups are really fun and inspiring. We incorporate a few pieces of teaching, prayer, music and lots of sharing.

It is not uncommon for there to be moments of deep sharing, which brings tears to those who are present and also laugh.

What really good to note, however, is how the laughter part increases in phase II and beyond. Incredible! And still inspires me to try to encourage participants to give this a fair shot and see for themselves how they can feel.

KM: What is the total cost of a program, for example someone who had to lose fifty pounds?

KB: It depends on how long they choose to follow the weekly lessons and / or weekly individual sessions.

Fees are not based on the amount of weight loss and each of us free weight to our own pace.

The Individual sessions are $ 60 and two hour lessons at a cost of $ 25. Each guide is $ 27 including tax. It is extremely reasonable purpose.

I need the support of my son and me, but I want to do so that people can afford.

KM: What is the timetable for someone looking to lose fifty pounds?

KB: That each person.

It is sure easier to eat smaller portions and less calories when we are not ingest foods that are triggering want to eat more.

So, if a participant is like me, when they begin Phase II, they choose to eat together, not dependent on food-including their bodies and in small portions enough to remove the eight faster.

During my graduate output weight, I usually eat between 1200-1700 calories daily and made sure to walk or dance well. Sometimes I could take off 45 pounds in a few months, and at other times, it took me a little longer, but I knew I was headed in the right direction and the weight would eventually become detached. And done!

Some of my participants have lost their weight in a few months and others have chosen to remove slower after their first loss of weight, as they have adapted to changes in the weight loss they are subject to various levels.

KM: What methods of payment do you take?

KB: Cash, checks and PayPal.

KM: How did this program come to be?

KB: Close four years, when my son is two and a half and in preschool, I felt the desire to help those who want to stop overeating, to-become strong once more.

Initially, this desire had motivated me to go to the University of Chicago so I can get my masters in social work and be better prepared to offer advice in this area.

When I started to look around, many programs for inpatients that included food dependency in the 1980s and 1990s, had closed its doors.

And where I live, but there were still many programs for alcoholics and drug addicts, programs for people with eating disorders have been designed for people suffering from Anorexia nervosa and bulimia.

I could not find anything that was designed to help people with bulimia.

I think our sensibilities and / or addiction to certain substances in foods and beverages and the consequences of food addiction force, is so severe and debilitating as any other addiction, but at this time he does not seem that many have been displayed this way.

So I decided that I create my own. I wanted a positive, stimulating, educational, and doable program out there that people around the world could have access to and participate in, if so inspired.

Since then, while facilitating classes and individual sessions along the way, I created this program year and January this year, I finished my guide 16.

Recently, I started spread the word about my program and my willingness to help in this area and I pray that those who have prayed for something like that, find their way to me.

KM: What are the other benefits of your program? In addition to helping people to stop overeating and lose weight.

KB: Because we are open to cover everything that comes up there are so many benefits beyond weight loss and cessation of the cycle of overeating.

Each _Just the participants that they feel closer to God for their understanding.
_They Feel better and more beautiful.
_Many report they are not the same person walking in the introductory class.

_Some Are much more comfortable and explore potential relationships and their sexuality avoided when they were overweight. It's a fun and scary thing, but we're talking our way through this, and they come back with funny stories of their growth in this area.

Font _Some better financially because the changes they bring have released their room to put there in more risk-taking and how it is profitable for them.

_Some Create their own businesses because they have more faith in their ability to something outside the mainstream today.

_Most Are the pursuit of love for the first time and enjoy the changes that brings to their bodies and endorphins withdrawn later.

_Those That completes the Phase II report they are more aware of what they think things and they are thinking is much clearer. (It's like a fog lifts when we complete withdrawal.)

Also _They more likely to speak with loved ones, even if they know they can not be supported. We provide support to another.

Many of us who used to overeat, stuffed our feelings and avoid confrontation, and as we eat more healthily and feel better about ourselves, we are less inclined to do, but there is usually a process of learning to grow stronger and we are working this kind of thing in class.

We encourage each other and celebrate each time we do something we would never have any overweight and isolate our trigger foods.

These are just a few examples that come to mind yet.

KM: Thank you Kathy for taking the time to answer my questions.

KB: Thank you, Karen. Thank you for your time and hope you can find main points here.

Take care,
Kathy
